New Selection Criteria for Undergraduate
entry to Medicine
In order for students to be eligible to
compete for entry to undergraduate medicine, they must:
a)
Achieve a minimum of
480 points
b)
Meet the minimum
entry requirements for each medical school
c)
Complete the
required admissions test-HPAT within the two year period
immediately preceding admission to the medicine programme.
Students may register until 20th
January for the test online at
www.hpat-ireland.acer.edu.au
Cost is €95.
The HPAT test takes place on 14th
February. There is a sample booklet in my office should you wish
to consult it.
Specific Learning Difficulties
Students with Specific Learning Difficulties
are reminded that they must present an Educational Psychologist
report carried out since 1st February, 2006.
Exemption in Irish
Students with an exemption in Irish are again
reminded to inform the NUI. Relevant forms may be downloaded
from the NUI website

Third Language
Requirement Change
UCC have removed the third language
matriculation requirement for entry to programmes in the College
of Science, Engineering and Food Science. This will come into
effect for entry in 2009.
Post Leaving Certificate Courses (PLC)
Application forms are in my office. Most
require passport photos. Closing dates for some are as early as
March.
